Clark County is looking to fill three positions on the volunteer Animal Protection and Control Advisory Board. To be eligible, county residents must be a licensed veterinarian, facility owner, dog owner or animal owner other than dogs or cats. Terms for the positions begin immediately and end Dec. 31, 2025. The board meets quarterly at 6:30 p.m. on the fourth Thursday of the month at the Clark County Public Safety Complex in Ridgefield, although meetings are currently being held remotely. The board provides reports to the county council and Vancouver City Council at least once a year on general operations of the Animal Protection and Control program. The board also recommends potential code changes, acts as an appeals hearing board, volunteers at outreach and fundraising events and promotes the program and licensing of all dogs and cats. Applications and a résumé can be mailed to Animal Protection and Control, P.O. Box 9810, Vancouver, WA 98666-9810.
For more about the board or to download an application, go to https://clark.wa.gov/code-administration/animal-control-advisory-board. The application deadline is 5 p.m., Feb. 25.
