Photo Downtown Vancouver’s Trusty Brewing Co. is for sale. Owner Anja O’Neil said she is caring for a family member with health issues and can’t “give my business the attention it deserves.” O’Neil listed the business for sale in January and has had several interested parties seeking to purchase the business, which rents its space at 114 E. Evergreen Blvd. O’Neil said she’s looking for a buyer with a passion for making craft beer and is looking for a seamless transition. Trusty Brewing Co.’s listing states an asking price of $340,000 for the 3,492-square-foot brewery and taproom. The brewery was opened in 2016 by Gary and Andrea Paul. Before that, it was occupied by another brewery called Dirty Hands, and was a catering business before that. The building was built in 1928 by Herbert Campbell as the home of The Columbian. The newspaper business moved to its current home, 701 W. Eighth St., in 1955. The sale of Trusty marks another Vancouver brewery owner to move on during the pandemic. That includes Brian and Alicia Rummer, who closed Barlow’s Public House at The Waterfront Vancouver this month and put the brewery in east Vancouver up for sale. Beerded Brothers Brewing and Old Ivy Brewery are also gone.

As of September, there were 34 breweries in Clark, Skamania, Pacific, Cowlitz and Lewis counties, known as the “North Bank” region, according to Michael Perozzo, owner of design agency ZZEPPELIN and occasional contributor to online beer magazine newschoolbeer.com. In Vancouver, the number of breweries has dwindled from 14 to 10 during the pandemic after a long period of growth, Perozzo said.
