One person was injured in a garage fire that spread throughout the attached house Thursday in east Vancouver’s Mountain View neighborhood, according to the Vancouver Fire Department. Firefighters responded at about 1:30 p.m. to 819 S.E. Olympia Drive to find a large fire showing from the garage of the two-story house, the department said in a news release. The fire was also burning in the second floor and attic space. The residents told firefighters everyone was out of the house and accounted for. Twenty-one firefighters brought the fire under control in 10 minutes, the news release states. Crews stayed on scene for about an hour salvaging things and checking for hot spots. A person who suffered minor burns was treated by AMR, the fire department said. The Red Cross responded to assist the residents. The Camas-Washougal Fire Department also responded. The Vancouver Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause.
