A new art installation was unveiled Tuesday at the Port of Vancouver’s Terminal 1 on the Columbia River waterfront. The installation, which was sponsored by the Vancouver Rotary Foundation, was made to celebrate 100 years of the organization’s involvement in the community. Planned two years ago, it was delayed by the COVID-19 pandemic. “We’re excited that Rotary will have a presence in the new Vancouver waterfront project as all rotary clubs in Clark County celebrate 100 years in the area,” said Karey Schoenfeld, president of the Vancouver Rotary Foundation. The art installation, a 3-foot-wide Rotary symbol, was placed as part of the organization’s larger sponsorship of Rotary Way, an extension of the Waterfront Renaissance Trail. The Rotary donated $500,000 for the project, which will also include a peace pole and a timeline of Clark County’s history.
