A Vancouver man is accused of firing at least 30 rounds toward his girlfriend’s feet and in the air Thursday night at an east Vancouver apartment complex during an argument. Bryan D. Andrade, 21, appeared Friday in Clark County Superior Court on suspicion of first-degree domestic violence assault, drive-by shooting and aiming or discharging a firearm. Judge Gregory Gonzales set his bail at $750,000, and he is scheduled to be arraigned April 1. Vancouver police responded at 11:09 p.m. to the Kestrel Park Apartments, 6900 N.E. 154th Ave., for reports of multiple shots fired. A woman told police when she arrived home to the apartment she shares with her boyfriend, Andrade, she found him outside by his car with multiple women. She confronted Andrade, and he pushed her back by the throat. He also pulled out a handgun and held it down by his hip, according to a probable cause affidavit. Later, she said Andrade fired shots in the air and at the ground before pointing the gun at her, court records state. He fired more shots at the ground near her feet, and the woman said she could feel sparks hit her pants. She said she was afraid he would shoot her, and she ran away yelling for help. Andrade then drove away, according to the affidavit.

A neighbor told police she saw Andrade shoot into the air, point the gun at the woman and shoot toward her. Video from another witness shows the driver of a white vehicle, and multiple gunshots can be heard, according to court records. Officers found 31 shell casings and two bullet fragments outside of the apartment and in the street, the affidavit states. “It’s a miracle, the state would represent, someone didn’t become injured or killed,” Senior Deputy Prosecutor Jeannie Bryant said Friday.
