A Vancouver woman was taken to an area hospital Wednesday with minor injuries after she crashed into a flatbed trailer that road crews were using along southbound Interstate 5. The Vancouver Fire Department and the Washington State Patrol responded at about 9 a.m. to a report of a crash near the East Fourth Plain exit. Cheryl Moersch, 71, of Tangent, Ore., was stopped in the second lane on I-5 and attempted to move into the right lane. Darby Glen, 72, of Vancouver, crashed into Moersch, and Glen’s Kia Soul rolled onto its side. Glen’s car then slid into the trailer, which was parked on the right shoulder of the freeway, according to a State Patrol crash memo. Glen was unable to get out of her vehicle, and firefighters extricated her, the Vancouver Fire Department said. Glen was taken to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center for her injuries. Moersch was uninjured, the crash memo states.
