Police: Man wounded in Vancouver robbery

A man was shot in the hand during a robbery early Friday morning in central Vancouver, according to Vancouver police. Police were called at about 2:10 a.m. for a reported robbery with a firearm in the 3200 block of Watson Avenue in the Fourth Plain Village neighborhood. The victim said a female he knew and two to three unknown males came to his door. One of the males produced a firearm after entering his residence. During a struggle with the gun, the victim was shot in the hand, police department spokeswoman Kim Kapp said in an email. He is expected to survive his wound. The assailants stole the victim’s car and fled, Kapp said. Detectives from the Vancouver Police Department Major Crimes Unit are investigating.
