An electrifying event The Squires Electric Extraordinary 5K starts at 10 a.m. Saturday. Runners and walkers will follow a course along the Vancouver waterfront. The $25 fee includes a T-shirt and swag. Proceeds support The Hough Foundation. Registration begins at 9 a.m. at 695 Waterfront Way. Kids under 12 run free. Register at runsignup.com/Race/WA/Vancouver/TheSquiresElectricExtraordinary5K. Movies on ice Mountain View Skating Academy presents “A Night at the Movies,” at Mountain View Ice Arena, 14313 S.E. Mill Plain Blvd., Vancouver, with two shows at 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. Saturday featuring student ice skaters. Performances include “Sing 2,” “Beauty and the Beast,” “Grease” and “Star Wars.” Tickets are $12 for adults, $8 for children 6 to 12, and free for children under 5. $40 tickets are available for groups of four. Buy tickets at www.mtviewice.com. Pride for all Everyone is invited to Summer of Pride’s Community Gathering from 2-4 p.m. Saturday at the Clark County Historical Museum, 1511 Main St., Vancouver. This free social mixer helps the LGBTQ+ community connect with each other through activities and resource-sharing. Mum’s the word Vancouver Chrysanthemum Society offers rooted cuttings of hardy and exhibition chrysanthemums from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday in Greenhouse 5 at 78th Street Heritage Farm, 1919 N.E. 78th St., Vancouver. Additional sales will be held on May 7 and 8, along with the Master Gardener Foundation Mother’s Day Sale. The mum sale features 14 flower forms, including varieties not available in garden centers. Mum experts will be on site to offer advice. Greenhouse goodies The Columbia River High School FFA Plant Sale runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday in the Columbia River High School Greenhouse at 800 N.W. 99th St., Vancouver. Horticulture students have been growing flowers, vegetables, herbs, native plants and hanging baskets with organic soil and non-GMO seeds. Payment will be accepted by cash or check only. Put down roots NatureScaping of Southwest Washington will host a Bare Root Trees, Shrubs and Perennials Sale from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Center for Agriculture, Science and Environmental Education, 1100 N.E. 149th St., Brush Prairie. The sale features trees, shrubs, perennials, mason bees, garden photography and a raffle. Proceeds benefit NatureScaping.
