Vancouver police close Fourth Plain to investigate possible shooting

Vancouver police have closed Fourth Plain Boulevard near Auto Mall Drive to traffic while officers investigate reports of a possible shooting, followed by a car crash. Police received a report at 4:23 p.m. of an assault with a weapon at 7601 N.E. Fourth Plain Blvd., along with a report of a crash involving someone who was possibly shot, according to spokeswoman Kim Kapp. Kapp could not yet confirm whether anyone was shot or the conditions of anyone involved. Emergency radio traffic monitored by The Columbian indicated a victim was taken to an area hospital but was, at one point, conscious. Officers closed Fourth Plain Boulevard in the area around 4:30 p.m.
