Cookie lovers will rejoice with a second Vancouver-area Crumbl Cookies opening its doors in Orchards on Friday. This second franchise location is opening at 8101 N.E. Parkway Drive, Suite A-1 at 8 a.m. The Weis family, who owns the new locale, was first introduced to Crumbl when eldest daughter Olivia, now Olivia Gill, began baking at a Crumbl location in Salt Lake City four years ago. “They were just the most beautiful cookies,” said Jana Weis. She fell in love with the fact that customers could see the food being made and that everything was baked from scratch. “I baked a ton as a mom, and that was really important to me,” Weis told The Columbian.

Gill went on to become a store manager and then work for Crumbl’s corporate office, helping franchise owners open stores around the U.S. Gill and Weis are now partners in this new store, which they will run in person. “We’re just excited that we can work together every day and sell an amazing product,” Weis said. The new operation will employ 60 people. Since the company hires employees over the age of 16, this will be the first job for about half of them. Weis said one of the most exciting elements of the business for her and her daughter will be mentoring the younger staff members, teaching them things like how to create a culture in business, safety and being kind. Skills like these, Weis said, will go with the new staff members no matter where they end up.

“Vancouver is my second home. I love this community and the energy of the city,” Gill said in a press release. “As local business owners, the greatest joy will be sharing these delicious cookies with new and familiar customers, as well as mentoring new employees on this journey. “We are excited to open and run this store as a family,” she added. The grand opening week’s menu will contain six of the more than 200 rotating flavors, including Milk Chocolate Chip. It will then rotate weekly. The store will be open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. on weekdays and 8 a.m. to midnight Fridays and Saturdays. A ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place at the location at 3 p.m. Friday. While orders have to be placed in person for the first five days of operation, delivery, curbside pickup, catering and nationwide shipping will be available starting Feb. 1. The first Vancouver-area Crumbl bakery, owned by Utah-based investment firm WagsCapital, opened in Hazel Dell in 2021. Weis and her daughter expect to open another location in Camas later this year.
