One person was killed and another seriously injured in a van fire Tuesday morning in Hazel Dell. The Clark County Sheriff’s Office and Clark County Fire District 6 were called to the blaze about 8:15 a.m. in the 8400 block of Northeast Eighth Avenue east of Interstate 5. Upon arrival, emergency personnel found a parked, older van fully involved in flames and a man outside with significant burns, according to the agencies. An ambulance took him to an area hospital for treatment. Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire and found someone dead inside the van, the agencies said. The Clark County medical examiner was called to the scene. Authorities have not yet identified either victim. A neighbor reported two people were living in the van, according to the sheriff’s office.

“At this time, there is no information suggesting foul play,” the sheriff’s office reported. The sheriff’s office Major Crimes Unit and Clark County Fire Marshal’s Office are investigating the cause of the fire. Eighth Avenue between 82nd and 86th streets was closed to traffic for the investigation. The scene was visible from the freeway but did not disrupt traffic.
