City/County Telecommunications Commission to review Comcast service
By Shari Phiel, Columbian staff writer Published: February 10, 2023, 6:01am
Are Comcast cable television subscribers in Vancouver and Clark County satisfied with their service? That question and others will be discussed during the City/County Telecommunications Commission’s biennial review March 1. The public review begins at 3:30 p.m. in Vancouver City Council chambers, 415 W. Sixth St., Vancouver, and will be televised live on CVTV channels 23/323. Options for viewing and participating remotely are available. Comcast is operating under a 10-year franchise agreement, granted in July 2013, to provide cable television services in Vancouver and the county. Under the terms of the agreement, the commission conducts regular reviews of Comcast’s performance. Advance registration is required to testify during the meeting. Anyone wanting to testify must register by noon March 1 by calling 360-487-8702 or email tracie.ramirez@cityofvancouver. Instructions for remotely accessing the meeting will be provided upon registration. Citizens interested in submitting written testimony are asked to mail their comments to City/County Cable Television Office, P.O. Box 1995, Vancouver, WA 98668, or email them to tracie.ramirez@cityofvancouver.us. Written comments will be accepted through May 12. For more information about the commission, including meeting agendas and minutes, go to www.cityofvancouver.us/tc.
