Mayor Pro Tem Ty Stober has announced his reelection campaign for Position 5 on the Vancouver City Council. “I’ve been honored to serve our community, and I’m committed to continuing my work to make Vancouver a more affordable, livable and prosperous city,” Stober said in a press release. Stober said his campaign will focus on his leadership experience and dedication to creating affordable housing and supporting Vancouver’s homeless community. “Every person in our city deserves to feel safe, respected and supported in their homes as they walk down the street and participate in our economy,” he said. “And we have a moral obligation to future generations to protect our environment and make our infrastructure more resilient.” Stober was first elected to the council in 2015 and was reelected in 2019. He represents the council on the C-Tran Board and Clark County ECHO Committee on Homelessness, and serves as an alternate for the Regional Transportation Council, Metro Joint Policy Advisory Council and Metro Metropolitan Policy Advisory Council. He also serves on the board for the National League of Cities and the Legislative Policy Committee for the Association of Washington Cities.
