For the first time since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, Vancouver Mayor Anne McEnerny-Ogle will give her State of the City address to an in-person audience at 6 p.m. March 27 at the Firstenburg Community Center, 700 N.E. 136th Ave. This year, the city is introducing a Council Community Forum after McEnerny-Ogle’s speech with a “Big Picture Questions” theme related to Vancouver’s Comprehensive Plan, which is in the early stages of being updated. The event will be accompanied by the release of the city’s annual report, which includes details on the city’s budget and recent accomplishments. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. Seats are first come, first served, though RSVP is strongly encouraged, according to Tim Becker, Vancouver’s strategic communications manager. Live American Sign Language, Spanish and Russian interpretation will be provided. The address will be available for viewing on Clark/Vancouver Television (CVTV) channel 23 and HD 323, and on the city’s Facebook and YouTube pages after the event.
