Photo The owners of Amaro’s Table are opening a breakfast restaurant, called Cecilia, at the former Lapellah and Saap space on March 20. Cecilia will offer high-end breakfast foods, including fried chicken and waffles, Dutch babies, salmon benedict and brunch burgers. Breakfast cocktails also will be on the menu. Regular hours are 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. seven days a week in the Grand Central shopping center at 2520 Columbia House Blvd. in Vancouver. It will be open for private events after 2 p.m. upon request. The restaurant has received some minor renovations, including exposing brick walls, painting some walls pink, and renovating the restrooms and banquet room. But the building might not have its sign in place by the time it opens on March 20. The owners are Jesus Amaro Linares and Genaro Zurito Amaro. Cecilia is named after Genaro Amaro’s grandmother, who held memorable parties with great food at her home in Mexico.
“If it’s named after his grandmother, we wanted it to be beautiful,” said Haleigh Haase, brand director. Cecilia will be the third restaurant for the brothers-in-law. The original Amaro’s Table opened about five years ago at 1220 Main St.; the second Hazel Dell location, at 816 N.E. 98th Circle, opened in 2020. They have plans to open more restaurants in the future, Amaro said. Neither Amaro’s Table location is open for breakfast, but guests are always asking for breakfast options, Amaro said. The idea of opening a third restaurant excited Amaro partly because of the loyalty of his regular customers. Executive chef Tim Conklin and sous chef Ryan Roberts are among the roughly 30 employees who will join Cecilia, Amaro said. There are still job openings at the restaurant. Cecilia’s website lovececilia.com and its Instagram @breakfastwithcecilia will go live today, Haase said. The restaurant is taking bookings online and by phone at 360-360-4884.
