A Camas woman was arrested on suspicion of second-degree murder Thursday after investigators say she fatally shot her 68-year-old husband that morning at their east Clark County house. Beverly Ann Tafolla, 67, was booked into the Clark County Jail, according to Clark County sheriff’s Sgt. Chris Skidmore. Jail records show she is scheduled to appear on the murder allegation Friday afternoon in Clark County Superior Court. The sheriff’s office identified the victim as Robert A. Tafolla of Camas. Deputies responded at 6:41 a.m. for a report of an assault with a weapon. Emergency dispatch logs show the call was in the 28300 block of Northeast 48th Way, north of Camas. The caller told dispatchers he arrived at his parents’ house to find his stepfather had been shot, possibly by his mother, according to a sheriff’s office news release. When deputies arrived, they detained Beverly Tafolla to make the area safe, the news release states. Deputies and medical personnel went inside the house and found Robert Tafolla dead.

The sheriff’s office said Robert Tafolla suffered multiple gunshot wounds, and investigators recovered a .38 special revolver at the house. As a precaution, deputies took Beverly Tafolla to be evaluated at an area hospital before she was booked into the jail. Detectives from the sheriff’s office’s Major Crimes Unit are continuing to investigate.
