A Vancouver man was arrested Thursday on suspicion of manslaughter after his partner was found dead Saturday following a fight between the couple. Vancouver police had responded Saturday to the 3900 block of East 18th Street. A man, later identified as Kemawi “Eric” Simon, 32, called 911 to report he and his partner had been in a fight, and his partner was not breathing, according to a police news release. When medics arrived, they found a 59-year-old man dead in the bathroom, Vancouver police said. The Clark County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the man’s identity and cause and manner of death. Detectives from Vancouver police’s Major Crimes Unit began investigating and subsequently arrested Simon. Simon is scheduled to appear today in Clark County Superior Court on suspicion of second-degree domestic violence manslaughter, according to the Clark County Jail roster.
