Vancouver fire crews rescue man from burning house Updated 20 hours ago

A man was taken to an area hospital in critical condition Saturday morning after Vancouver firefighters rescued him from the second story of a burning house. The Vancouver Fire Department responded at about 5 a.m. to a fire at an abandoned house at 1107 W. 13th St. Callers reported to 911 that a man was trapped on the second floor, according to a fire department news release. Crews arrived and immediately began rescuing the man, the fire department said. Once they got him out, paramedics from Vancouver Fire and AMR treated the man for burns before taking him to a hospital. Firefighters extinguished the blaze in less than six minutes, the news release states. The fire is under investigation.
