A fast-moving residential fire suspected of starting in a garage damaged a Salmon Creek home, as well as a vehicle and motorhome on the property Friday night. According to a news release from Clark County Fire District 6, firefighters responded to the blaze around 7 p.m. in the 1500 block of NE 131st Circle. Upon arrival, firefighters saw heavy flames on the residential structure that extended to the attic of the home, while also damaging a car and motorhome parked nearby. The agency said the fire “appeared to have started in the garage.” Initial reports indicated no one was home at the time of the fire, the agency said in the release, though it believes five people live at the residence. Five engines, one truck, one squad and three Battalion Chiefs were on scene to bring the fire under control within 30 minutes of responding.

The Vancouver Fire Department also responded to the fire. The Clark County Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the fire’s cause and estimating damages.
