The Clark County Medical Examiner’s Office identified a 22-year-old Vancouver man as the motorcyclist killed in a June 29 crash in the Orchards area. Michael Louis Nyberg died from multiple blunt force injuries. His death was ruled an accident, the medical examiner’s office said Friday. Vancouver police responded at about 6:55 a.m. to the collision in the 10400 block of Northeast Fourth Plain Boulevard. The investigation indicates the motorcycle, driven by Nyberg, was traveling west on Fourth Plain and a Ford F-150 was traveling east. The pickup turned left into a parking lot, police said, and the driver did not see the motorcycle before beginning to turn. The motorcycle struck the front passenger’s side of the pickup. Nyberg was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a police news release.

Investigators said they believe the motorcycle was traveling an estimated 30 mph over the speed limit, and excessive speed is a causing factor in the crash. The pickup driver cooperated with the investigation, police said, and was not impaired.
