The Washington Columbia River mainstem and tributary sport sampling summary for July 24-31. There were 47 salmonid boats and 152 Washington bank rods were tallied during the July 29 flight count. COLUMBIA RIVER MAINSTEM SALMON/STEELHEAD Sec 1 (Bonneville) — 59 bank anglers kept two steelhead and released one Chinook, one jack and five steelhead. Sec 2 (Camas/Washougal) — Two bank anglers had no catch; four boats/four rods had no catch. Sec 3 (I-5 area) — 21 bank anglers kept two steelhead and released one steelhead; three boats/five rods kept two steelhead.

Sec 4 (Vancouver) — 19 bank anglers released two steelhead; five boats/10 rods kept one steelhead. Sec 5 (Woodland) — 28 bank anglers kept one steelhead and released one Chinook and three steelhead; three boats/10 rods kept one steelhead and released one Chinook. Sec 6 (Kalama) — 85 bank anglers kept three steelhead and released three steelhead; nine boats/22 rods kept one steelhead and released four steelhead. Sec 7 (Cowlitz) — One boat/one rod had no catch. Sec 8 (Longview) — 197 bank anglers kept 21 steelhead, one sockeye and released 21 steelhead; 15 boats/29 rods kept four steelhead and released 11 steelhead. Sec 9 (Cathlamet) — 29 bank anglers released four steelhead; seven boats/23 rods kept 12 steelhead and released one Chinook and three steelhead.

Sec 10 (Cathlamet) — Seven bank anglers had no catch; one boat/three rods released one Chinook and one steelhead. STURGEON Sec 2 (Camas/Washougal) — One boat/two rods had no catch. Sec 3 (I-5 area) — One boat/two rods released two sublegal sturgeon. Sec 6 (Kalama) — Five boats/eight rods released seven sublegal sturgeon. Sec 8 (Longview) — One boat/two rods released one sublegal sturgeon. COLUMBIA RIVER TRIBUTARIES SALMON/STEELHEAD Cowlitz River from Interstate 5 bridge downstream — Nine bank rods had no catch. Cowlitz River above the I-5 bridge — 18 bank rods kept one Chinook, one jack and released one jack; 13 boats/47 rods kept 33 steelhead. Kalama River — Six bank rods had no catch. Lewis River — 15 bank rods had no catch; 17 boats/53 rods kept five Chinook, six steelhead and released seven Chinook and three steelhead. Wind River — Two bank rods had no catch. Drano Lake — 16 boats/29 rods kept two Chinook, one jack and released nine Chinook and nine steelhead. Klickitat River below Fisher Hill Bridge — One bank rod had no catch.
