A Vancouver man died at PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center after a two-vehicle crash Tuesday in the Orchards area, according to the Washington State Patrol. Kostyantyn G. Kray, 28, was killed in the crash. According to a State Patrol crash memo, Kray was northbound at high speed on a 2024 BMW motorcycle on state Highway 503 about 4:10 p.m. John C. Whitcomb, 82, of Vancouver, was southbound and turning left at 99th Street in a Hyundai Santa Fe when Kray hit Whitcomb’s car. Kray, who was wearing a helmet, was transported to PeaceHealth in Vancouver where he later died. Whitcomb was wearing a seat belt and was not injured. According to the State Patrol, the crash was due to speed and improper passing. A GoFundMe was set up to support Kray’s family.
