A 13-year-old Vancouver boy was taken to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center for his injuries after a crash Tuesday evening in Orchards. Eric Kocakov was on a motorized minibike heading east on the sidewalk on 99th Street, near state Highway 503, about 8 p.m., according to a Washington State Patrol crash memo. Steven P. Hadley, 63, of Vancouver was northbound on Highway 503 and turned right onto 99th Street. According to the crash memo, Kocakov didn’t yield the right of way to Hadley and rode into the crosswalk where he hit Hadley’s 2007 Kia Rio.

Kocakov was wearing a helmet but was taken to PeaceHealth. The extent of his injuries is unknown. Hadley was uninjured. The State Patrol said failure to yield the right of way caused the crash.
