A runner’s spirit: Camas cross country team rallies around Micah Snell and his message of inclusivity CAMAS — Camas High cross country athlete Micah Snell is happiest when racing — first in marathons starting at age 2, and now on the Papermakers’ cross country team. Other athletes may get faster times, but Micah sets the gold-bar standard for a runner’s spirit. He pushes teammates and competitors to be their best as they push him in a specialized tri-wheel racing chair.

Shari’s restaurant closures hit Vancouver locations, with just one left in Clark County The wave of Shari’s Cafe & Pies restaurant closures across Oregon appears to have shuttered a couple of Clark County locations, as well. As of Tuesday morning, the Shari’s at the corner of Northeast 117th Avenue and 76th Street appeared to be the only one still open here. It was widely reported Monday that all Shari’s locations in Oregon abruptly closed over the weekend. Two Vancouver locations have closed in recent days too: one on Chkalov Drive and another on Thurston Way near Vancouver Mall. The Thurston Way location was open as recently as earlier this week. PacifiCorp plans to run high-voltage line from Swift Dam through east Clark County into Oregon Portland power company PacifiCorp plans to run a new high-voltage transmission line through east Clark County, the company confirmed last week. The project, set to start construction in 2027 or 2028, revives property easements that the company has had for decades. Company looked at similar projects several times and already owns most of the easements it needs 5. New east Vancouver Trader Joe’s will open its doors Friday California grocer Trader Joe’s announced its new east Vancouver location will open Friday. The new store at 16701 S.E. Mill Plain Blvd. is in the Columbia Crossing Shopping Center on the corner of Mill Plain Boulevard and Southeast 164th Avenue. A ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place just before the doors open at 8 a.m.
