Letter: Add trains for transportation

By Erick Hurtado-Ruiz, RIDGEFIELD Published: November 1, 2024, 6:00am

As Vancouver grows, there’s an increase in the amount of cars that are used in the highways. Interstate 5, which is the main highway used in Vancouver, is a great way to get from the bottom of Vancouver all the way to Salmon Creek. I-205 is another great highway to get from east Vancouver all the way to Salmon Creek. Highway 500 may be last but not least because it is the only highway to go from west Vancouver to east. All these highways are important to the Vancouver transportation system, although I think an alternative transportation that could create less carbon emissions and be faster is to put trains next to each one of these highways, creating almost a triangle around all of Vancouver. These trains would not only be able to get students faster to school for those who go to Clark College and WSU Vancouver, but it would also make a huge impact on traffic through these highways and carbon admissions.
