VANCOUVER – Columbia Credit Union will once again support the Foundation for Vancouver Public Schools annual student chest drive. The credit union is matching the first $15,000 that Vancouver students raise. The chest drive began as a student-led movement more than 75 years ago. Students collected coins and pooled the money to provide essentials to their friends. These days the money goes to the nonprofit foundation, which distributes it. In addition to matching the first $15,000 from students, Columbia Credit Union will accept public donations to the student chest at any of its branches. The student chest drive runs from Nov. 12-22.
