For almost 30 years, incarcerated women in Washington have been part of a program that transcribes documents, pamphlets, business cards, textbooks, novels, music, signs and menus — even the Oregon Voter Guide — into Braille. “I was in there for 11½ years, and you think you don’t really have anything to live for.
