Vancouver man fatally shot in Portland Updated 2 days ago

A Vancouver man was shot and killed Nov. 20 at a Northeast Portland hotel. Kimo A. Henriques, 43, died of homicide by gunshot, according to the Oregon State Medical Examiner. According to the Portland Police Bureau, officers from the North Precinct responded at 7:15 a.m. to a report of a shooting at a hotel in the 8200 block of Northeast Sandy Boulevard. When they arrived, police found Henriques wounded in the parking lot. An ambulance took him to an area hospital, but he died, according to a statement. A special emergency reaction team and the crisis negotiation team were called to help secure the crime scene. On Wednesday afternoon, after conducting a tactical search of the hotel, one person was detained.
