Letter: Don’t spend tax money on homeless
By John Vomacka, Vancouver Published: December 24, 2024, 6:00am
Am I the only one who has a real problem with the city of Vancouver spending lots of tax dollars to house and care for the homeless? I think not, and unless city leaders get off their crazy train, things will only slide further down the rat hole. Over $6 million to buy land to build a 150-bed facility for the homeless? Egad, such tomfoolery. Charity should be private, not public; why make it easier for these wandering dregs of humanity to stay here and beg, steal and shoot up? This isn’t Portland; we welcome neither the homeless nor light rail. Are you paying attention, city leaders?
