Still don’t have plans for Valentine’s Day? It’s not too late to organize an outing. Below you’ll find a short selection of local happenings this weekend that will help you put the “I” in Valentine. Wine about it The Southwest Washington Winery Association’s St. Valentine’s Wine and Chocolate Pairings happen every weekend in February at wineries around Southwest Washington. Hours, offerings and prices vary from winery to winery. Activities can include wine tasting, chocolate pairings, small plates, live music and special discounts. Participating wineries are located in downtown Vancouver and along the waterfront, in Battle Ground and Brush Prairie, east Vancouver, Camas, Washougal, Ridgefield, Yacolt, Woodland, Longview, Kelso and Chehalis. From 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, enjoy bingo hosted by Elizabeth Berg and browse the pop-up bookstore from local bookseller Flirting With Fiction. Suburban Succulents will lead a Galentine’s Air Plant Terrarium Workshop at 6 p.m. Friday at Amavi Cellars/Pepper Bridge Winery, 677 W. Columbia Way on the Vancouver waterfront. The cost is $35 per person and includes all materials to create a terrarium; wine or nonalcoholic beverages and small plates can be purchased separately. Tea for two Bring the romance home with Pomeroy Farm’s Valentine’s “Tea To-Go” fundraiser on Saturday. The package includes a luncheon for two with an assortment of sweets, savory bites, scones and tea. Order tea for two online, pick it up at the farm and take it home. The cost is $75 for a two-person luncheon. Pickup times are 11:30 a.m., noon and 12:30 p.m. Saturday at 20902 N.E. Lucia Falls Road, Yacolt. Sixth St., Vancouver, will offer a “Love Letters in Clay” workshop from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday. The cost is $245 per couple. Transform your most treasured words — from wedding vows, song lyrics or love notes — into ceramic art during this hand-building workshop. Each couple will create either two individual pieces or one larger shared piece. Students will also enjoy sparkling cider and sweet treats. After the workshop, Kilnfolk will bisque-fire the letters and apply a clear glaze prior to firing them a second time. Pieces will be available for pickup two or three weeks after class. Valo Cellars will offer participants a 15 percent discount on additional wine purchases by the glass or bottle. Art with heart ArtZone, 6923 N.W. Friberg-Strunk St., Suite 230, Camas, will host a Valentine’s Paint Your Partner (or Friend) paint-and-sip event from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday. Participants age 21 and older can sip a favorite drink and create a masterpiece together. No experience is necessary; the ArtZone instructor will guide participants through every step. All supplies are included in the price of $95 per couple.
