Driver of vehicle remained at scene, cooperated with investigators
A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle Tuesday night at the intersection of Northeast 29th Avenue and 147th Street in Salmon Creek. Clark County sheriff’s deputies responded at 9:38 p.m. to the scene, the sheriff’s office said in a news release Wednesday. The agency said deputies arrived to find an injured but breathing pedestrian lying face down in the roadway. The pedestrian was taken by ambulance to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center in Vancouver, where they died from their injuries. The Clark County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the pedestrian’s identity and cause and manner of death.
The driver of the Toyota Tundra that struck the pedestrian remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. The driver called 911 and showed no signs of impairment, the sheriff’s office said. The Clark County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Homicide Unit is investigating.
