Letter: GOP tries to ruin Postal Service
It sounds like great news, but it isn’t. The Columbian reports that the United States Postal Service will drop another 10,000 employees (“USPS agrees to work with DOGE on reform, planning to cut 10,000 workers,” The Columbian, March 14). Yikes. Every day from my Facebook friends, I read about horribly late mail service, so I doubt that cutting 10,000 employees will help fix that problem for what used to be the truly greatest postal service in the world. Once the Republican Party destroys that once-great service, we seniors who now get our prescription drugs in the mail won’t see that free service anymore. It’ll be privatized and expensive. How much of our American dream can the Republican Party ruin before we yell “Stop!”?
