Lower Columbia River, tributary fish report for March 15
On the March 15 flight count on the lower Columbia River, Rocky Point/Tongue Point line upstream to Bonneville Dam there were 32 salmonid boats and 15 Washington bank rods tallied between Warrior Rock and Longview Bridge. Mainstem Columbia River Salmon/Steelhead Sec 3 (I-5 area) — One boat/two rods had no catch. Sec 4 (Vancouver) — Seven bank anglers had no catch; 15 boats/26 rods kept one Chinook. Sec 5 (Woodland) — Four bank anglers had no catch; nine boats/15 rods had no catch. Sec 6 (Kalama) — Seven bank anglers had no catch; one boat/one rod had no catch. Sec 7 (Cowlitz) — One boat/three rods had no catch. Sec 8 (Longview) — 22 bank anglers released two steelhead; 31 boats/69 rods kept one steelhead. Sec 9 (Cathlamet) — 16 bank anglers had no catch; three boats/11 rods kept one Chinook. Sec 10 (Cathlamet) — 20 boats/41 rods had no catch. Columbia River tributaries Salmon/Steelhead Cowlitz River from Interstate 5 bridge downstream — 33 bank rods kept two steelhead and released one steelhead; one boat/one rod had no catch. Cowlitz River above I-5 bridge — 28 bank rods kept five steelhead and released one steelhead; 11 boats/34 rods kept 25 steelhead and released one steelhead.
Lewis River — Five bank rods had no catch; one boat/two rods had no catch Recent trout plants March 19 Klineline Pond — 3,997 cutthroat, 2.27 fish per pound from Skamania Hatchery. Horseshoe Lake — 3,000 rainbow, 2.50 fish per pound from Mossyrock Hatchery. March 14 Battle Ground Lake — 2,000 rainbow, 2.15 fish per pound from Vancouver Hatchery. Klineline Pond — 1,500 rainbow, 2.15 fish per pound from Vancouver Hatchery. Ice House Lake — 2,000 rainbow, 2.50 fish per pound from Goldendale Hatchery. March 13 Kress Lake — 3,300 rainbow, 2.70 fish per pound from Mossyrock Hatchery.
