RV fire in the Mount Vista area leaves one man dead
A man was found dead after firefighters extinguished a recreational vehicle fire Friday near the Mount Vista area north of Vancouver. Clark County Fire District 6 responded to reports of a fire at 11:44 a.m. in the 2000 block of Northeast 159th Street. By the time firefighters arrived, the RV was fully engulfed in flames, according to a department news release. Four engines, two trucks and two battalion chiefs responded, the agency said. The crews were unable to save the RV, but they prevented the blaze from spreading to a nearby house and trailer, according to the news release. After firefighters extinguished the fire, they found a man dead inside the RV, the department said. The Clark County Medical Examiner’s Office responded and will identify the man and his cause and manner of death. The Clark County Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire.
