Lower Columbia River, tributary fish report for March 22
Lower Columbia River, Rocky Point/Tongue Point line upstream to Bonneville Dam there were 138 salmonid boats and 53 Washington bank rods tallied on March 22. Mainstem Columbia River Salmon/Steelhead Sec 3 (I-5 area) — Four bank anglers had no catch. Sec 3 (I-5 area) — One boat/two rods had no catch. Sec 4 (Vancouver) — 10 bank anglers had no catch; 33 boats/51 rods had no catch. Sec 5 (Woodland) — Two bank anglers had no catch; 11 boats/20 rods had no catch. Sec 6 (Kalama) — 13 bank anglers had no catch; five boats/11 rods had no catch. Sec 7 (Cowlitz) — One boat/two rods had no catch. Sec 8 (Longview) — 37 bank anglers kept one steelhead and released one steelhead; 26 boats/49 rods had no catch. Sec 9 (Cathlamet) — 11 bank anglers had no catch; 10 boats/19 rods kept one Chinook. Sec 10 (Cathlamet) — 28 boats/61 rods kept two Chinook. Columbia River tributaries Salmon/Steelhead Cowlitz River from Interstate 5 bridge downstream — 90 bank rods kept six steelhead and released three steelhead. Cowlitz River above I-5 bridge — 76 bank rods kept eight steelhead and released one steelhead; 27 boats/74 rods kept 59 steelhead and released five steelhead.
Kalama River — 17 bank rods released three steelhead; two boats/five rods released one steelhead. Recent trout plants March 25 Klineline Pond — 1,500 rainbow, 1.70 fish per pound from Vancouver Hatchery. Battle Ground Lake — 1,000 rainbow, 1.70 fish per pound from Vancouver Hatchery.
