Skyview High School breaks student fundraising record for Make-A-Wish
SALMON CREEK – Skyview High School is redefining student-led fundraising for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, setting a local record this school year. Through the annual Mr. & Ms. Skyview Pageant in March participants raised $138,000 and counting — currently the highest amount achieved by any local high school and the second highest in the nation. The Mr. & Ms. Skyview Pageant is a tradition that brings together students, faculty and supporters for a fun-filled competition with a powerful purpose. Contestants team up and partake in talent showcases, themed challenges and community fundraising efforts — all in support of the nationwide nonprofit. Nearly 300 kids living in Oregon and Southwest Washington are battling a critical illness and are waiting for their wishes to come true.
“The passion and commitment of Skyview students is truly inspiring,” said Kaitlyn Bolduc, Make-A-Wish Oregon vice president of marketing and communications. “Their dedication to our mission shows that anyone, at any age, can make a difference. Their efforts will have a profound impact on the lives of local families.”
